Greetings again

It is hard to post regularly, since I talk to many of the people who read this often. It has come to my attention that there are other people reading it, and so I will try to post more often. We'll see how it works out.

You may remember from my last post I was due for a trip to Chicago. It was a very good time, with good food and drink and company. Literally, since it was with my company. Nothing quite like 160 geeks showing up in town to really throw open the lid on partying!

I've since spent a weekend in St. Louis, shopping and eating at the Cheesecake Factory. Which is just "yum," in technical terms. I also saw V for Vendetta, which I highly recommend. It is a thinkin' movie, that's for sure. Some have accused it of being anti-Bush and pro-all sorts of nasty things, but the graphic novel for the book was developed well before Bush entered office. Actually, that link seems to think it is anti-God, which is a bit overkill. Someone really needs to figure out how to watch something without being so self-centered that it becomes all about them and their issues, but I digress. It may not be the best movie if you're way right wing, and it has some goofy lines and is very violent, but I really enjoyed it and enjoyed the thinking it caused even more.

Tonight I had a second private lesson at the martial arts place. I have to say I'm interested. Might be fun, and probably easier for me to stay interested in than just working out for the heck of it. I'll decide by Monday, when I have another appointment.

Tomorrow I head to the sprawling metropolis of Joplin. Should be an outstanding time!
