Hello and happy 4th of July (a few days early).
Thanks to all those who wished me a happy birthday last week. I would have responded earlier, but the hotel where I was at did not seem to care for any sort of internet connection. I was in Omaha at Offutt AFB attending a Region Staff College with Civil Air Patrol.
I learned a whole bunch and had a lot of fun meeting new people and seeing new things. It was probably the first adult professional development activity I really, really enjoyed and learned stuff.
Once I returned, I went to the encampment banquet last night. Springfield had over 10 people attending, and they all did outstanding. Here's a photo of our Color Guard:
They had competed at the cadet competition earlier this year, and now they are the wing team and perform at many wing events. I'm very proud of them, and they looked incredible last night. There was an Army NCO there who commented on how good they looked.
I do have a few cool links this time! Here's one showing some of the new Army products designed to help the troops.
Here's a neat one about the only Muslim Chaplain in the USMC.
You can now alter your route on the fly at google maps. Sweet!
